Our History
In the 1970s, the Indian economy underwent a significant transformation, shifting from agriculture to industry. This transition brought stock broking, once overlooked, into prominence. Equities quietly gained traction among the middle class, leading to exponential growth in the capital markets within a decade.
Recognizing the need for fresh talent, Mr. Varjivan C. Kampani welcomed his son Madhukar and grandsons Hemal and Sandip into his organization. Together, they assessed the situation and identified a crucial requirement for discipline, accountability, and professionalism in day-to-day management. This marked the beginning of a journey characterized by continual evolution and expansion.
In a groundbreaking move, they disbanded their 30-year-old firm to establish VCK Share & Stock Broking Services Ltd., becoming the inaugural corporate member of the Calcutta Stock Exchange in 1989. Since its inception, VCK Share & Stock has experienced rapid growth, earning the trust of a vast investor base.
The 1990s witnessed a shift from mercantilism to entrepreneurship, marked by concepts like competition, free markets, deregulation, and liberalization. Capital issues were liberated from CCI control, offering companies greater opportunities. Leveraging its existing infrastructure, research capabilities, and investor network, VCK ventured into merchant banking, launching VCK Capital Market Services Ltd. in 1991.
VCK Caps, a SEBI-approved Category-I Merchant Banker, provides specialized services to a diverse clientele. It conducts project appraisals, facilitates resource raising, and assists in structural planning and forging ties with financial institutions and potential investors.
The VCK Group holds membership in the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), National Stock Exchange (NSE), and leading commodity exchanges such as MCX. Additionally, it is registered as a Depository Participant with CDSL.
